Houston’s restaurants and bars have seized on Labor Day weekend as not only the end of summer (not really) but as a wonderful excuse to have a party and offer special deals. Here are some of the best on offer:

a’Bouzy, 2300 Westheimer

Celebrating all weekend long, a’Bouzy will offer caviar at cost all day Friday, September 4, followed by “La Strada” Style Sunday Funday Brunch on September 6. Labor Day wraps up with brunch and 50-cent oysters on Monday, September 7, which is also the final day of Houston Restaurant Weeks.

Axelrad, 1517 Alabama 

Spend Labor Day at Axelrad with happy hour from 2 to 7 p.m., featuring $3 mimosas, $4 wells, $5 margaritas, micheladas and house wine plus 20 percent off frozen drinks. The beer and cocktail garden is open until midnight, with a free Mystery Movie Monday and comedy from Jeff Joe starting at 8 p.m.

BB’s Tex-Orleans, multiple locations

Pair frosty pours and mountains of crab at BB’s this Labor Day weekend. Regular-size frozen cocktails are $5, all day, every day through September 21, from frozen daiquiris margaritas to frozen swirls; and BB’s Crab Craze is also underway, featuring four Cajun-boiled options at lower prices: Whole Blue Crabs for $8.99 each; Snow Crab Clusters for $11.99 each; Dungeness Crab Clusters for $16.99 each; and King Crab Legs for $54.99.

Galveston Island Wine Festival, Moody Gardens

The island’s epic wine festival returns with three days, more than 100 wines, Gulf Coast bites and celebrity chefs. The lineup includes a White Linen Seafood Extravaganza on Friday, Penguins and Pinot in the Aquarium on Saturday with wine and spirit tastings, restaurant bites and marine animal encounters, plus a Sunday wine-paired dinner. Saturday also brings a ‘Tinis and Bikinis pool party with live music, while Sunday’s festival finale includes a drone show. Individual tickets are available.

Flora Mexican Kitchen, 3422 Allen Parkway 

Hit the glass treehouse on the bayou for a long weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, September 7, with Mexican breakfast and brunch classics like huevos rancheros, chilaquiles and huevos divorciados, plus handcrafted cocktails and live music.

Hungry’s, 14714 Memorial Drive, 2356 Rice Boulevard, 5750 Woodway

Hungry’s is offering Labor Day specials on Monday, including a $14 beer and burger combo, $2 off cocktails, $5 Texas draft beers and $6 house wine during happy hour. Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée.

Local Table, multiple locations

Local Table is offering Labor Day specials on Monday, with $2 off cocktails, $5 Texas draft beers and $6 house red or white wine during happy hour. Kids eat free every Monday with the purchase of an adult entrée.

Molina’s Cantina, 3801 Bellaire, 7901 Westheimer 

Celebrate summer’s end with $8.50 premium margaritas and $9.50 Molina’s margaritas all day Friday through Monday at all three locations. Those hosting at home can also grab fajita and enchilada packs along with margaritas by the gallon, half-gallon or single serving.

The Original Ninfa’s, 2704 Navigation, 1700 Post Oak

The Tex-Mex institution is offering party packs for Labor Day weekend, including a $400 fajita pack serving eight to 10, a $60 El Crispy Taco Kit for four to six and a $79 Chips for Days Party Box. To-go Ninfaritas are also available in half-gallon and gallon sizes, starting at $50.

Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House, 113 6th

The San Leon oyster house invites those 21+ to break out the white for a summer send-off by the water on Sunday, September 6.  Taking over the lower marina, the ticketed party features DJ beats, food and drink specials, live entertainment and an aerialist. Tickets are $5; guests planning to dine should make a separate dinner reservation.
