SAN ANTONIO — An apparent robbery at an East Side apartment complex ended with one man shot twice early Tuesday morning, but investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what happened.
Emergency crews were called around 3 a.m. to The Park at Sutton Oaks apartment complex along Interstate 35 near Hines Avenue.
Police said a man and his girlfriend had pulled into the apartment parking lot to meet someone when another man approached their vehicle with a gun.
The man told investigators the armed man put the gun in his face and then hit him with it.
At some point, the suspected robber was shot. Police found him outside the apartment complex with gunshot wounds to his arm and torso.
He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The other man was later stopped by police a short distance from the apartment complex. Investigators have not said who fired the shots or what led up to the shooting.
Police also said they did not find a gun at the scene.
No arrests have been made as investigators continue working to determine exactly what happened.
