The restaurant known for its jiggly pancakes expands to Frisco less than a year after its Fort Worth debut

Frisco diners no longer have to drive all the way to Fort Worth to try the towering, jiggly pancakes that helped turn Sweet Stacks into one of the city’s buzziest ew restaurants.

Sweet Stacks is officially in the soft-opening stage of its second location at 252 W. Stonebrook Parkway, Suite 640, in Frisco, less than a year after the concept debuted on Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth.

The original restaurant quickly found an audience. Customers waited in lines stretching as long as two hours after the restaurant opened in late December 2025, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Part of the wait comes with the restaurant’s signature Japanese soufflé pancakes, which take about 30 minutes to prepare.

Now, the concept behind those stacks is bringing much more than pancakes to Frisco.

Sweet, Savory And Plenty Of Matcha

Sweet Stacks combines Japanese-inspired sweets and drinks with the Thai and Lao cooking behind its sister concept, Sweet Rice. The star of the menu is its soufflé-style Japanese pancakes, known for their tall, airy and jiggly texture. Diners can go sweet with fruit-topped stacks or savory with options paired with bacon and eggs.

But pancakes are only part of the draw. The menu moves from matcha lattes and Thai tea to pad Thai, fried rice, Lao sausage, potstickers and other Asian dishes. Sweet Stacks describes the Frisco lineup as a mix of its traditional Thai and Lao menu, matcha and Japanese soufflé pancakes.

That combination comes from a team with an established North Texas restaurant presence. Sweet Stacks is a spinoff of sorts from Sweet Rice, and chef Mina Sourignavong has worked with Sweet Rice founder Von Linavong on multiple Texas restaurants.

The Frisco expansion has been in the works since at least this spring, when plans surfaced for Sweet Stacks to open on Stonebrook Parkway. By August, those plans had become reality. Sweet Stacks announced that its second restaurant was officially in soft opening, inviting customers to bring friends and family and try the concept’s Thai and Lao dishes, matcha and soufflé pancakes.
