A popular San Antonio coffeehouse is closing its Beacon Hill location after nearly two years of serving specialty coffee off Fredericksburg Road. Folklores Coffee House announced Tuesday that it has permanently closed its second shop at 106 Michigan Ave.
Folklores Coffee House first opened its Beacon Hill location to the public on January 11, 2025. At the time, the coffee shop shared its space with CheeseMé Charcuterie Boards, another local business, while its Government Hill location continued to operate on Grayson Street. Folklores announced the closure of its second location via social media posts on Facebook and Instagram.
“Opening that shop was a leap of faith, and watching it become part of the neighborhood meant more to us than we can put into words. To our regulars, our friends, our staff, and everyone who supported us along the way — thank you,” the post said. “We’re proud of what we built there, and we’re grateful we got to be part of Beacon Hill.”
The post came almost immediately after another from Folklores stating that the Government Hill location would close at 1 p.m. today due to construction. MySA reached out to Folklores co-owner Emilie Herrera for additional comment on the closure, and we will update this story when we receive a response.
Folklores Coffee House will continue to serve coffee at its Government Hill location, where the business is preparing for spooky season, which coincides with fall flavors returning to the menu.
