The KPRC 2 Weather Team is monitoring Tropical Depression Edouard as it moves across Southeast Texas, bringing heavy rain, gusty winds and a risk of street flooding to parts of the Houston area.
Flood watches and tropical storm warnings are active across coastal and inland counties.

5:51 a.m. Flash Flood Warning issued for northwestern Liberty County, east central Montgomery County and southeastern San Jacinto County until 8:45 a.m.
3:30 a.m. Flood Watch issued for northeastern areas and counties until 7 p.m.: Brazos, Chambers, coastal Harris, Grimes, Houston, inland Harris, Madison, Montgomery, northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker and Waller.
Tuesday, Sep. 1
9 p.m. Tropical Storm Edouard weakens into a tropical depression.
6:25 p.m. Houston ISD announces it will operate as normal on Wednesday.
4:49 p.m. Flood advisory issued for Chambers and Liberty counties after heavy thunderstorms produced intense rainfall across the region. The advisory remains in effect until 6:45 p.m.
4:45 p.m. Nearly 19 thousand Entergy customers are without power, the majority of whom are just west of Sabine Lake. CenterPoint has only 45 customers without power.

2:20 p.m. The National Hurricane Center reports that Edouard made landfall near Johnson Bayou, Louisiana, with estimated maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and minimum pressure of 996 mb.

1 p.m. Entergy Texas has crews rotating shifts for 24-hour response coverage. It has also deployed more than 60 vegetation crews to targeted locations across the service area to address vegetation that could impact.
12:30 p.m. “We’re better prepared today than ever in Houston’s history,” Mayor Whitmire said.
11 a.m. Barricades are already up at a flood-prone East End underpass with a 90-year-old sewer system as Houston braces for heavy rain from Tropical Storm Edouard
10:30 a.m. Houston Independent School District canceled all after-school activities this afternoon, prompted by the tropical storm making landfall this afternoon, just east of the city.
