First Thursdays – Arlington’s 150th Birthday Bash
Celebrate Arlington’s 150th anniversary during First Thursdays on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 5–8 p.m. in Downtown Arlington. The free celebration will feature live music, family-friendly activities, special downtown experiences and local businesses joining in the sesquicentennial festivities. Come explore Downtown, enjoy the entertainment and celebrate 150 years of Arlington!
Summer Music Series
Enjoy live local music at the Summer Music Series on Friday, Aug. 28 from 6–8 p.m. at Home Plate at Texas Rangers Golf Club. This week’s featured artist, Michael Mangrum, will perform inside Home Plate while guests enjoy food and beverage specials throughout the evening.

Opening Weekend at Levitt Pavilion
Kick off the fall concert season with three nights of free live music at Levitt Pavilion Arlington, Sept. 4–6, with concerts beginning at 7:10 p.m. Friday features Blue Water Highway, Saturday brings Shelby Stone, and Sunday wraps up the weekend with Del Castillo. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a full weekend of music under the stars!
Kutub: Arabic Book Club & Calligraphy
Explore Arabic culture through literature, conversation and art at Kutub: Arabic Book Club & Calligraphy on Saturday, Sept. 5, from 1–4 p.m. at George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. Adults and seniors can join the discussion of Arabic novels, poetry, music, films and more, followed by an Arabic calligraphy session led by master calligrapher Hayder Mohsin. No registration is required.
Sewing Basics: Patchwork Pincushion
Ready to give sewing a try? Learn the basics of using a sewing machine in this beginner-friendly class on Saturday, Sept. 5, from 2–4 p.m. at George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. You’ll make a patchwork pincushion while practicing your new skills, with all materials provided. The class is open to ages 13+ and limited to the first 10 attendees.
