A Texas Wesleyan University student was injured Sunday in an assault on campus, police said.
Fort Worth police officers responded to a call about a cutting about 4 a.m. in the 3200 block of Avenue B, police said in a statement.
When officers arrived, they found the victim with a small laceration, police said. According to the 911 call log, a caller reported that the person injured was a Texas Wesleyan student.
The student was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition, police said.
Police said detectives are following leads provided by the victim. No arrests have been announced.
“The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is always Texas Wesleyan University’s top priority. On Aug. 30, an incident occurred on our campus, and Campus Security with Fort Worth Police responded appropriately to ensure our community remained safe,” Texas Wesleyan University spokesperson Karen Cantrell said in a statement.
The university is partnering with Fort Worth police as they lead the investigation, Cantrell said.
