The Alpha Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. proudly hosted the annual Julius Chambers Bowling Tournament on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Plano Super Bowl in Plano, Texas.
The event brought brothers, family, and friends together for an afternoon centered on fellowship, friendly competition, sportsmanship, and the enduring bonds of Omega brotherhood.
The tournament began on a meaningful and heartfelt note as Mrs. Chambers officially opened the event with an expression of gratitude and appreciation to the Alpha Iota Iota Chapter for continuing the legacy of her husband, Bro. Julius Chambers (Omega Chapter).

She reflected on how deeply Omega Psi Phi was woven into his life and how, as those who knew him can attest, Bro. Chambers carried Omega close to his heart. Her words served as a powerful reminder that the tournament represents much more than competition—it is an opportunity to honor a Brother whose love for Omega, fellowship, and service continues to inspire others.
From the opening frame, the lanes were filled with camaraderie, laughter, and spirited competition. After a close game overcoming the 2010’s decade for total team score, the 2000’s Decade Team, comprised of Bro. Don Cryer, Bro. Larry Johnson, Bro. Ken Lawrence and Bro. LV Tucker, along with honorary cheerleader Jaice Elise Johnson, took top honors.
The team delivered an impressive performance and emerged as tournament champions, taking home the coveted Bulldog Trophy. Adding to the team’s successful afternoon, Bro. Ken Lawrence earned the individual honor of Top Bowler.

The tournament also reinforced Alpha Iota Iota’s commitment to Reclamation and Retention. This event creates an opportunity to reconnect brothers, renew friendships, strengthen relationships across generations, and encourage greater participation in the Fraternity.
The Julius Chambers Bowling Tournament ensures that the legacy of Bro. Chambers continues through brotherhood, fellowship, and service.
Together, we reclaim. Together, we retain. Together, we rise.
