Several Fort Worth-area high school football games have been affected by the dissolution of Victory+.
The service and its parent company will no longer broadcast high school football games, Carroll ISD told the Star-Telegram Wednesday. The Dallas Morning News was the first to report the news.
Southlake Carroll, Richland, North Crowley, Mansfield Summit and more were set to be covered. The shutdown comes days after DLLS Sports reported that the Dallas Stars plan to move broadcasts from Victory+ to Amazon Prime Video.
In mid-July, the Texas Rangers and Anaheim Ducks announced their departure from Victory+ broadcasts. For the Rangers, it was an immediate, sudden change in the middle of the season; the Rangers are now with BZZR.
In Week 1, Victory + did not cover Humble Summer Creek at Shadow Creek as scheduled. The Star-Telegram reached out to A Parent Media, Victory+’s parent company, and has not yet received a response.
Victory+ began in 2024 with a unique business model; it was free to view and relied solely on advertisements. The platform was set to cover the UIL Texas high school football state championships for the next five years, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Victory+ was set to cover Allen at Southlake Carroll (Sept. 11), Highland Park at Richland (Oct. 2), North Crowley at Waxahachie (Oct. 9), Mansfield Summit at DeSoto (Oct. 16) and more.
