Veterans and first responders must show valid ID and bring a vehicle to transport mattress

HOUSTON – Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale and Gallery Furniture are marking Labor Day weekend with a meaningful giveaway — 150 free mattresses for veterans and first responders in the Houston area.
The giveaway takes place today from 8 to 10 a.m. at Gallery Furniture, located at 6006 North Freeway in Houston. Mattresses will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
To claim a mattress, veterans and first responders must present a valid military or first responder ID. Recipients are also asked to bring a vehicle large enough to transport their mattress.
