The City of Lubbock considers box springs and mattresses to be “bulky items”, meaning they are way too big to shove into the dumpster out back without becoming a total jerk to your neighbors and trash collectors.

You’ll need to bring your driver’s license to prove you have an address in the City of Lubbock. Residents are allowed multiple visits each year to get rid of bulky household items from single-family homes.
