Happy Thursday,
After 13 years of offering outdoor movie screenings to Fort Worthians, Coyote Drive-In fades to black on Labor Day, Sept. 7. The closure — which has drawn mixed reviews from residents online — comes as work is expected to begin this fall on the Panther Island project.
General manager Chris Fortune told me that the final day will be “a little lower key” focused on simply playing movies for the final time. However, guests can expect on-site food trucks and live music this weekend, he added.
Find out which movies are playing on Coyote’s big screens for the final weekend below.
My colleague Christine Vo and I will be at the outdoor Fort Worth venue on Sept. 7 to speak with newcomers and longtime fans about what it felt like to drive in for the last time. We’ll bring you that multimedia story soon.
