TYLER, Texas (KETK) – CHRISTUS Health awarded a total of $300,000 through its Community Impact Fund to five East Texas nonprofits during the annual Blessing of the Hands Ceremony at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview on Thursday.
The $300,000 in funds went to Asbury House Child Enrichment Center, Bucker CFS, Mentoring Alliance, Newgate Mission and the Regional East Texas Food Bank.
“It is an honor to be able to partner with these organizations because the patients who come into our, our hospital walls oftentimes come with many needs, not only health needs, but social needs as well and these organizations are doing that work outside of our communities,” CHRISTUS Health Community Benefits Program Manager Jessica Guerra said. “They’re providing food. They are providing shelter. They are uplifting our communities and they’re that support that’s outside our walls.”
