LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -Fresh off last week’s 36-35 last-minute win over rivals Coronado, the Monterey Plainsmen (1-0) are ready to take on another familiar opponent, the Abilene Wyle Bulldogs- a non-district opponent they have played in the last ten years.

Their previous two meetings have been decided in the final moments of the game with the Bulldogs winning 29-28 in 2024, and the Plainsmen returning the favor 24-21 last year on “Thursday Night Throwdown”.
“We’ve had some knockdown drag outs with them, close ball games. We lost by one two years ago, we beat them by three last year. It’s always a great matchup, evenly matched. ball club with us.
