EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso’s iconic Star on the Franklin Mountains will shine light blue on Friday to honor global music sensation Karol G ahead of her two upcoming performances at UTEP Sun Bowl Stadium this weekend.

The special lighting is being organized by Live Nation in partnership with the El Paso Chamber as a celebration of Karol G bringing her “Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour” to El Paso for two nights at Sun Bowl Stadium.

Organizers say the tribute recognizes the excitement surrounding her highly anticipated shows while also highlighting El Paso’s growing presence as a destination for major live entertainment.

Residents and fans will be able to watch the illumination live online through the El Paso Chamber’s “Star Lighters” program.

The El Paso Chamber, founded in 1899, describes itself as the unifying voice of the Borderplex business community, focused on economic development and innovation, public policy and government relations, and infrastructure and transportation.
