EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Karol G fans are getting an early start on the celebration as the Colombian superstar prepares to take the stage at the Sun Bowl this weekend.

Fans gathered at the El Paso Convention Center on Friday for an official “Viajando Por El Mundo” pop-up experience ahead of Karol G’s two El Paso performances.

The free pop-up features interactive installations inspired by Karol G’s song “Viajando Por El Mundo,” allowing fans to make their way through different destinations featured in the song while stopping for photos along the way.

For many fans, the experience is just the beginning of a weekend they have been waiting for.

“I’ve been a fan since she came to El Paso in 2019,” one fan told KTSM. “I tried to go to the ‘Mañana Será Bonito’ tour, but I didn’t make it to that. So we made it here. So let’s go, let’s go.”

The excitement is also bringing fans to El Paso from outside the Borderland.

“Girl, I came from Nebraska to come see her,” Daisy, a Karol G fan, said. “Me encanta todo. I’m excited.”

Karol G is the latest major artist to take the stage at the Sun Bowl as El Paso continues to attract large-scale concerts. UTEP officials told KTSM earlier this week they hope to continue bringing major artists to the Borderland, describing recent concerts as only the beginning of what they hope to bring to the stadium in the future.

Karol G will perform at the Sun Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6, as part of her “Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour.” Becky G will join her as a special guest.
