BEEVILLE – The Beeville Trojans saw their season record drop to 0-2 on Friday, Sept. 4 after a 35-25 non-district loss to the Corpus Christi London Pirates at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Trojans fell behind 28-8 before mounting a comeback bid in the thief quarter.
Jayce Foster caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Garcia and Jake Avalos’ extra point pulled Beeville to within 28-15.
A 35-yard field goal by Avalos later in the third quarter closed the Pirates’ lead to 28-18.
But London (1-1) responded late in the third quarter with a touchdown to widen its lead to 35-18.
Beeville answered with a 38-yard scoring pass from Garcia to Jaylen Robinson to make it 35-25. But the Trojans got no closer the rest of the game.
Beeville will try to get into the win column on Thursday, Sept. 10 when it travels to Corpus Christi for a 7 p.m. against the Carroll Tigers (0-2).
