SAN ANTONIO — A man was struck by a vehicle outside a convenience store on the city’s Southwest Side after the driver allegedly accelerated toward him and then fled the scene without stopping to help.
The crash happened Saturday afternoon around 2:14 p.m., in the 1900 block of SW Military Drive.
According to SAPD, the man was leaving a convenience store when he saw a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze pull into the parking lot. He allegedly waited for the vehicle to continue moving, but it stopped in front of him.
When the man began walking, he claimed the driver accelerated toward him and struck him. The impact caused the man to hit the hood of the vehicle before falling to the ground.
The driver then left the area without providing information or offering assistance. The man who was hit complained of pain following the crash but was not taken to a hospital.
