Second baseman Will Wagner homered and drove in three runs, leading Triple-A El Paso to a 7-0 win over visiting Las Vegas on Sunday.

The home run was Wagner’s sixth. He is hitting .252/.369/.378 with 27 RBIs in 68 games with El Paso.

Wagner hit .257/.422/.286 in 16 games with the Padres earlier this season.

First baseman Nick Solak (.884 OPS) went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Right fielder Carlos Rodriguez (.809 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.

Right-hander Logan Gillaspie (6-5, 5.90 ERA) threw two scoreless innings in relief for the win.

Right-hander Evan Fitterer (4.38 ERA) threw four no-hit innings in the start.

El Paso’s schedule runs through Sept. 20.

El Paso is 56-82.

Midland 5, Missions 1: LHP Jamie Hitt (2-2, 6.23 ERA) allowed three runs on five hits and four walks in five innings in the loss. CF Braedon Karpathios (.797 OPS) went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. DH Albert Fabian (.758 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a double. The Missions’ schedule runs through Sept. 13.

 

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (56-74)

TinCaps 10, Lansing 3: Fort Wayne ended its season on a three-game winning streak. DH Rosman Verdugo (.729) hit a grand slam for his career-high 15th homer. SS Yimy Tovar (.617 OPS) drove in three runs on three hits, including his first homer and first double. 2B Dylan Grego (.485 OPS) went 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. RHP Jack Pineau (1-0, 1.13 ERA) closed the game with three no-hit innings for the win.

 

Note: Low Single-A Lake Elsinore’s regular-season finale was canceled due to wet grounds. The Storm will play at Ontario on Tuesday for the start of the best-of-three California League Division Series.
