JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – Madison County Fire Rescue has been deployed to Pablo Pinto, Texas, since August 30 to assist with the Texas Ross Wildfire. Monday, we received an update about these men and women as they continue their mutual aid efforts.
Chief Turner stated that the wildfire has burned approximately 90,000 acres and is currently 57% contained. Increasing containment remains the number one goal for MCFR. The crew is also assisting with local 911 calls. Sunday, the crew responded to a rapidly growing wildfire and were able to contain it before further damage.
MCFR is working hard to contain the Texas Ross wildfire, putting in 14 to 15 hours a day. The current plan is for MCFR to return to Madison County next Monday. MCFR reports that everyone is doing well and is safe.
