With all of the ups and downs with the stock market, and even the economy, there is a financial plan that is gaining some momentum.
It’s called ‘Die With Zero’, which started in a book a few years ago written by Houston-based hedge fund manager, Bill Perkins.
“It’s not about the money, it’s about what the money affords you” Perkins said during a recent interview, “The goal that I decided on was not the money, but what’s the life.”
A life that you live while you can, not after you finally retire.
“I wrestled with that for many, many years and eventually it became the book” said Perkins, “How to allocate your wealth, your health, and your time so that you don’t have any regrets when you die.”
It’s a mindset that is generating a lot of buzz, especially post-Covid.
“To me, it’s just logic that you would want to spend all your money before you die, you want to get the reward for giving up hours of your life” noted Perkins.
With that said, planning is the first step.
