I don’t know about you guys, but lately, I’ve been spending far too much time on social media. I’ve reached the point where nothing sounds better than hopping on a plane and visiting another continent.
Maybe you don’t need an actual vacation. Maybe you just need to be able to pull out your very own passport, bat your eyes, and whisper, “Soon…”
If you’re as ready as I am to temporarily abandon this entire circus and go stare at cathedrals in another country, here’s where to go to get yourself a passport in Lubbock, Texas.

The Lubbock County District Clerk’s Office at 904 Broadway accepts passport applications by appointment. There is a $35 acceptance fee, so make sure you bring your wallet. There is also a US Department of State passport fee.
Texas Tech
You don’t have to be a student at Texas Tech to use their passport acceptance office at the International Cultural Center at 601 Indiana Ave. Texas Tech’s Office of International Affairs will provide you with passport application services. They accept the DS-11 application, and they also offer passport photos for only $15.
Walk onto the Texas Tech campus with the right paperwork, and you’re one step closer to fleeing the country.

If it’s your very first time getting a passport, you’re generally looking at an in-person application. The U.S. Department of State says new passport applications are accepted at authorized passport acceptance facilities, which include post offices, libraries, court clerks, and other local government offices.
If you’re eligible to renew, you may want to save some time and do it online or by mail instead.
Before you head out the door that you check the U.S. Department of State’s passport information to get all of your documents, fees, and applications in order before being told to “come back with the right stuff.”
