Lubbock has no shortage of fast food, and a lot of it is pretty dang good. We have plenty of the usuals, like McDonald’s and Subway, and we are blessed with excellent regional choices like Taco Villa. And suffice it to say, we have far too many chicken finger places. Late Night Is An Important Category

Whataburger has saved countless lives when it comes to late-night dining, and I can’t thank them enough for the taquitos. However, I do feel that in a college town, we could stand more quick, easy, and inexpensive late-night options for those folks and also for people who work late shifts. This is where I ask (for the 9000th time) for Jack In The Box to return. Some other great options would include White Castle and Waffle House.

A Broader Worldview (And Taste)

One of my favorite things about traveling to big cities is the international options. A really fun option would be Jollibee, which has chicken (try to look past that real quick), burgers, spaghetti, and Palabok, a Filipino noodle dish. They also have fried pies- yum!

Healthy Choices

Lubbock does have some great healthier options (especially depending on how you order), like Tropical Smoothie Cafe and El Pollo Loco. There are many healthy food chains out there, and it might be a great way to break up all that fried chicken. Options like Sweetgreen, Cava*, Chopt, and more could really round things out around here.

* for similar food (which is fantastic in my opinion; Lubbock does have two locations of Motomedi)

Del Taco

Did I just give Del Taco its own category? Yes, I did. It’s cheap, quick, and has a huge variety, including breakfast. I think it would do quite well here.
