A suspected drunk driver was arrested after seven people were injured in a crash during a police chase Sunday night, Grand Prairie police said.
A Grand Prairie police officer traveling southbound on Texas 360 near Brown Boulevard about 10:45 p.m. saw a major accident when one vehicle collided with another, police said in a news release.
The vehicle that caused the crash fled southbound on Texas 360, prompting a police chase. The driver continued eastbound on Interstate 30, police said.
Police said during the pursuit, the driver caused an additional collision, hitting multiple vehicles. First responders transported at least seven people to hospitals.
The driver, who has not been publicly identified, was determined to be intoxicated and arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and collision involving injury, according to police.
The crash victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
