A driver was seriously injured after a high-speed chase on Monday in Parker County, Texas Department of Public Safety officials said in a news release.
A DPS trooper observed a white GMC Terrain traveling westbound on Interstate 20 in the Weatherford area at speeds exceeding 100 mph and committing several other traffic violations, according to the release.
The trooper attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the SUV drove-off west on I-20, officials said.
The GMC struck another vehicle near the intersection of I-20 and U.S. 180 and continued fleeing. The crash caused damage to both vehicles, but no injuries were reported, according to the release.
The driver exited I-20 and attempted to re-enter the highway through the bar ditch near Ric Williamson Memorial Highway, officials said. The GMC then hit a culvert and stopped on the highway, blocking the westbound lanes.
The unidentified driver, who was the sole occupant of the GMC, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, DPS said. The investigation is ongoing.
No details regarding arrests or charges faced were released.
