MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) – Midland will miss the Minor League Baseball postseason for the first time since 2023. The team’s loss to Corpus Christi Tuesday night gave the Texas League South Second Half Championship to Amarillo.
It’s been a rough year for Midland. They finished the first half of the season seven games back from Frisco and didn’t find much success early in the second half. The RockHounds went eight weeks without a series win during that span of time.
This will be the first year Midland doesn’t make the playoffs under Manager Gregorio Petit.
The RockHounds have five games left on the 2026 schedule. They will close out their season against Corpus Christi on Sept. 13.
