CORPUS CHRISTI — The Rockport-Fulton High School volleyball team opened District 30-4A play with a convincing sweep of Corpus Christi Moody on Tuesday, Sept. 8 on the road.
The Lady Pirates won 25-18, 25-7, 25-14 to start district play off with a victory.
Holly Baergen and Allie Garcia led the offensive attack with 11 and seven kills, respectively.
Garcia added five aces and Baergen nine digs in the win.
Iris Kuhn dished out 14 assists and Ellie Leftwich recorded 11, and also had a block. Logann Wood contributed three aces along with two blocks, and Kenna Nguyen added 12 digs.
Rockport-Fulton split its junior varsity matches winning the JV 1 match 20-25, 25-20, 25-21 and losing the JV 2 contest 27-25, 18-25, 26-24.
