NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and Austin Street Center invite you to attend the Humble Beginnings Luncheon on Friday, October 26, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. and will raise awareness surrounding the critical issue of homelessness. NBC 5 Today news anchor, Deborah Ferguson, will moderate an engrossing conversation with tennis legend, entrepreneur, global advocate for equality, and keynote speaker, Venus Williams.

The theme for the Humble Beginnings Luncheon is “Unlocking Hope: Where Healing Has a Home.” The event serves as a fundraising event for Austin Street Center, with funds used towards the center’s mission to provide unhoused individuals a pathway to housing and independence. This year’s keynote speaker, Venus Williams, is not only an accomplished athlete and tennis legend, but also an activist for equality. Williams’ resilience and advocacy inspire many and makes her an ideal candidate to lead a conversation that will inspire hope in our North Texas community.

About Austin Street Center
For more than 42 years, Austin Street Center has worked tirelessly to transform the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness in North Texas. Austin Street serves two highly vulnerable populations: men over the age of 45 and women over the age of 18, many of whom also suffer from addiction, victimization, or the unexpected loss of resources. Austin Street’s mission is to provide safe shelter while meeting the basic needs of the most vulnerable homeless. Their goal is that every person who comes to Austin Street Center finds hope, support, and the resources they need to transition out of homelessness.
