The Ingleside Lady Mustangs volleyball team has talked about changing the culture, and the results have continued to come on the court early this season.

Ingleside battled to defeat Corpus Christi King in five sets (16-25, 10-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-13) on Sept. 8. With the win, Ingleside moved to 16-7 overall and 1-0 in district play.

Additionally, it was a monumental district win for the Lady Mustangs, as it was their first district victory since the 2019 season.

Addison Wilson-Graves (14 kills) and Oakley Ruiz (12 kills) led the way for the Lady Mustangs’ offensive attack, while Dara Davila dished out 23 assists. Davila and Wilson-Graves also combined for seven service aces.

Defensively, Alyvia Hudycek and Wilson-Graves notched two blocks apiece while Ryleigh Cuellar had a block. Kyleigh Ralston racked up 17 digs, and Daisy Gonzales added 10 digs.

Ingleside had also previously defeated Aransas Pass in straight sets (25-23, 25-17, 25-19) on Sept. 4 in a non-district matchup.

The Lady Mustangs are slated to play Corpus Christi London on Sept. 18.
