HOUSTON – A Houston man is currently wanted after he allegedly exposed himself in the women’s clothing section at a Walmart in the Houston area over the weekend.
Jeremiah Bernard Ellis, 36, has been charged with indecent exposure. Records show he also has a 2008 indecent exposure conviction.
What happened
Harris County sheriff’s deputies got called to the Walmart at 3450 FM 1960 on Sunday around 9 a.m., according to court records, after an employee monitoring the security cameras reported seeing Ellis in the women’s clothing section while allegedly engaged in a sex act and looking at both an employee and a customer.
Investigators wrote in court records that Ellis was within 10 to 15 feet of the women.
Employees confronted him in the women’s clothing section and ordered Ellis to leave the store immediately.
The female customer allegedly told deputies she was unaware of the incident but “felt offended and violated” once she found out.
Identifying the suspect
Investigators searched Ellis’ license plate and found a previous stop involving the same vehicle in which Ellis was listed as the driver, according to records.
Using screenshots of the surveillance video from the store, investigators observed a teardrop tattoo on Ellis’ face that appeared to match his previous mugshots. Deputies have not released a current photo of Ellis.
Ellis has a documented gang member history, according to records, and had four outstanding class C misdemeanor traffic warrants.
Criminal history
Ellis also has previous convictions for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, assault, felon in possession, and indecent exposure, according to court records.
He’s currently on bond for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, according to records.
Ellis is currently wanted in relation to the Walmart incident and has not been arrested, according to records.
