A Fort Worth homeless shelter issued a plea for donations after a fire destroyed a storage facility Sunday.
Presbyterian Night Shelter lost clothing, hygiene products, towels and bed sheets that it planned to distribute in the coming months. No one was injured in the early morning fire, and a cause has not been determined.
Nothing could be salvaged, the shelter said, and it must quickly replace the items to prepare guests for the winter.
Monetary donations can be made online. The shelter also has an Amazon wish list, which includes diapers, menstrual hygiene products, underwear, sweatshirts and winter coats.
It is also accepting donations of gently used clothing and household items. Those can be dropped off at Greater Give at the Greater Good Collective, 2603 Cherry Lane, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Presbyterian Night Shelter, just southeast of downtown Fort Worth, is the largest provider of homeless services in Tarrant County, serving about 1,000 men, women and children every night.
