Former congressman Beto O’Rourke pushed to get young voters to the polls Thursday at a rally in Dallas, telling a crowd to join him “to reach, register and turn out every young voter in the state of Texas.”

O’Rourke spoke during a We The People Rally for Democracy at Dallas City. The event was free and open to the public.

The organization held the event as Republicans wrapped up Day 2 of a midterm convention held at American Airlines Center that featured local and state leaders, such as Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance also took the stage.

“You ready to overcome this fear and replace it with our ambition, our aspiration and the best of America found right here in Texas,” O’Rourke told the crowd, before leaving the stage.
