Celebrity chef Graham Elliot, who for the last four years has helped shape some of Fort Worth’s most popular restaurants, is opening a restaurant of his own in the city, he announced.

Elliot, who was a celebrity judge on MasterChef, will start a hospitality group and open his first restaurant in Fort Worth alongside Charlie Rushton. The pair announced Commodore Tavern & Terrace will open this fall on Magnolia Avenue, Elliot announced in a Facebook post.

Ruston previously served as Corporate Chef at Fort Worth-based Far Out Hospitality, the company Elliot has been partnered with since 2022. The hospitality group owns several notable Fort Worth restaurants, including Pacific Table, Press Cafe, Maria’s Mexican Kitchen, and most recently Le Margot, which was named one of the best new restaurants in the state by Texas Monthly.

The chef’s new location, at 1101 W. Magnolia Ave., was previously home to Magnolia Wine Bar, which closed in April, according to reporting from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

“It’s our take on the neighborhood restaurant: great food, great drinks, warm hospitality, and most importantly, a place we hope feels like it belongs here,” Elliot said in a Facebook post.

Several other changes have come to Magnolia Avenue recently, including the addition of ice cream shop Salt + Straw,  the viral Sweet Stacks Asian souffle pancake cafe and the loss of the original Heim Barbecue location.
