An Original Roy Hutchins BBQ location will open on Interstate 35E in Denton, and co-founder Wes Hutchins is looking for a location in the Fort Worth Stockyards area, he said Thursday.
The third Original Roy Hutchins will be built in the 3400 block of Interstate 35E South, a half-mile south of Buc-ees near Wind River Lane, according to Hutchins’ description.
He and a group of family members started The Original Roy Hutchins BBQ in Trophy Club in 2023, breaking from his brothers and other family members at the older Hutchins BBQ locations in Collin County.
Wes Hutchins had posted vague AI images on Instagram in July and again Sept. 4 labeled “Future Denton Texas” and “Future Rockwall Texas.”
The Denton store is planned to open in 2027, and a Rockwall store near an IKEA location is still planned in 2028, according to an online message.
He missed out on one Stockyards location, he said.

The location is the Original Roy Hutchins’ first in Denton County.
The second Tarrant County location opened in March at 1600 E. Copeland Road in Arlington, a former steakhouse at the Interstate 30 turn to Nolan Ryan Expressway, AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field.
Both locations of The Original Roy Hutchins BBQ are open for lunch and dinner daily.
