Joe Anthony Galvan, 24, faces charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle, failure to identify and deadly conduct

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man was arrested after leading Wilson County deputies on a chase and barricading himself inside a home for several hours before surrendering Tuesday.
In a news release, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy first pulled over a driver, later identified as 24-year-old Joe Anthony Galvan, for running a stop sign.
When deputies attempted to verify his identity, Galvan gave a fake name, according to the release.
After deputies tried to verify his identity, Galvan then took off toward San Antonio, driving recklessly, the release said. Authorities ended the chase near Interstate 35 and Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
Investigators were later able to identify the owner of the vehicle and tracked it to a San Antonio address. When deputies and San Antonio Police Department officers arrived, the release said Galvan refused to come out. After several hours of negotiations, he surrendered peacefully.
According to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, Galvan faces charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle, failure to identify and deadly conduct. He was also wanted on two warrants out of other counties for intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
