The post office near the San Antonio airport, known for its late hours and being open on Sundays, is changing its hours for window service in October.
According to a notice posted on the facility’s door, the U.S. Postal Service’s airport station will begin closing at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, starting Oct. 3. It will be closed on Sundays. The airport location was previously open until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The note, signed by Station Manager Garret Alderman, said the self-service kiosk will still be available 24/7. And customers will continue to have access to their post office boxes 24 hours a day.
Alderman did not cite a reason for the change, but wrote that the new schedule will “better serve the community.”
Becky Hernandez, San Antonio’s USPS spokesperson, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“We thank you for your patience as we transition,” Alderman wrote. “The U.S. Postal Service will continue to provide the same excellent customer service in the new Retail Service times.”
