SAN ANTONIO – A woman was critically injured Thursday night after being hit by a pickup truck while walking on a stretch of highway where pedestrians are prohibited, according to incident notes.
The crash happened at about 8:05 p.m. on 09-11-26 in the 1000 block of SE Loop 410, near East Houston Street.
The complainant was walking on the highway when a Chevrolet Silverado traveling south and exiting the highway struck her as she was crossing, the notes state. The driver tried to brake but was unable to avoid the collision.
The driver of the Silverado remained at the scene during the investigation. The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Investigators said there were no criminal elements to the crash at the time of the report.
