Sunday’s college volleyball slate featured a top-10 showdown and a historic win for Vanderbilt.
No. 9 Texas rallies past No. 6 Wisconsin
Texas bounced back from an opening-set loss to defeat No. 6 Wisconsin 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16).
The Longhorns balanced attack helped secured the win, with Cari Spears, Torrey Stafford and Nya Bunton all completing over 12 kills. Spears led the way with 18 kills on 45 attacks and a .289 hitting percentage.

Texas saved its strongest stretch for the finish. The Longhorns jumped out to an early lead in the fourth set and never looked back, cruising to a 25-16 win to complete the comeback.
The win gets Texas a top-10 victory after a five-set loss to No. 8 SMU earlier in the week. The Longhorns head into their next two matchups against No. 17 Tennessee and No. 3 Kentucky.

Vanderbilt makes program history
Vanderbilt secured its first ever ranked win in program history, defeating No. 18 UNC in the Big Apple 3-1 (16-25, 26-24, 25-19, 27-25).

Vanderbilt came out firing in the opening set, hitting .522 compared with North Carolina’s .040 en route to a 25-16 win.
The Tar Heels responded in a tight set two, but Vanderbilt regained control. The Commodores hit .423 in the third to take the set 25-19 before battling through a tight fourth for a 27-25 win to secure the first ranked victory in program history.
Vanderbilt’s offense proved to be the difference, finishing with 65 kills on .314 hitting. Reese Animashaun led the Commodores with 20 kills, while Samantha Wunsch added 18 on .441 hitting.
The historic win marks another milestone for Vanderbilt after the program returned to competition just last season.
