LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Some Lubbock residents laced up their running shoes this morning to support neighbors with intellectual disabilities.
It was the inaugural High Point Hustle 5K and fun run at High Point Village.
High Point Village is a nonprofit with the mission of creating a space for people with intellectual disabilities to live, learn, work, worship and achieve their full potential.
The organization said fitness is an important part of its day programs, which is why the run was a way to raise money.
Runners and walkers surpassed High Point Village’s fundraising goal, with $20,685 raised.
