Forget about Howard Edward Butt. Joe is opening yet another grocery store in Fort Worth.

According to state license permits, a 12,500-square-foot Trader Joe’s grocery store is planned for 9052 North City Drive in north Fort Worth.

The grocery store is a part of a grander $1.1 billion development, called North City, that will host multiple apartment complexes, a hotel, a park and many more restaurants and retailers in far north Fort Worth. The 300-acre center is located between Interstate 35W and U.S. 287, under North Tarrant Parkway.

So far, Portillo’s, Velvet Taco, KPOT Korean Hot Pot, Urban Egg and Velvet Taco have opened. A Sleep Number, Carvana and Living Spaces are also running. And Pickle City pickle ball courts, as well as an indoor go-karting track and an arcade, are open as entertainment options.

Another Trader Joe’s is already in the works in Mansfield, and existing locations are off Hulen Street in Fort Worth and in Southlake. This North City store will be the fourth Trader Joe’s location in Tarrant County. The grocer also has plans for new stores in Frisco and McKinney.

Another Trader Joe’s going into Fort Worth

The fourth Tarrant County Trader Joe’s will be located at 9052 North City Drive at the North City development in north Fort Worth.

The grocer will join Costco and Target located across the street as well as Kroger, H-E-B, Winco and Aldi all within a mile’s radius.

According to the state licensing documents, construction is planned to start in December and wrap up by June 2027.

Trader Joe’s is a California-based grocer that stocks mostly its own private-label products. There are no coupons, no memberships and rarely any sales, to ensure customers are always promised the same price.

They are known for their affordable wine, charcuterie selection, frozen meals and canvas tote bags.
