Cordero allegedly failed to stop and continued traveling eastbound on Montana, “at a high rate of speed,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Dash camera footage from an EPCSO unit began by showing the vehilce turning on its lights and sirens, but the sedan didn’t stop, running a red light.

The video jumps to another EPCSO unit driving close to the fleeing sedan. Hernandez is then seen in the dash cam opening the back passenger door and “waving” at the pursuing EPCSO unit.

Hernandez gets back into the vehicle, and the sedan continues to flee from law enforcement.

With help from the Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, a “Pursuit Intervention Technique” maneuver, which brought the vehicle to a halt along the 4000 block of Square Dance Road.

At least four law enforcement units are then seen chasing Cordero, while he runs on foot. Cordero is seen running on the road, and the law enforcement units are seen attempting to block Cordero’s path.

The video cuts to body camera footage of at least three deputies chasing Cordero on foot in a desert area.

One deputy is seen bringing Cordero to the ground and the other deputies are seen attempting to handcuff him.

The video then cuts to deputies chasing Hernandez on foot, with Hernandez telling a deputy, “Don’t touch me.”

Hernandez is seen being brought to the ground and is heard saying, “What the f**k.” Hernandez tells the deputy that “There’s a girl in the car,” but it’s unclear if there was another person in the vehicle.

The first deputy tells the others, “Don’t tase him,” and repeatedly tells Hernandez, “Put your f***ing hands behind your back.”

The deputy tells Hernandez to “Stop resisting,” and the video fades out.

Cordero was charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and evading arrest or detention, with a total bond of $15,000.

Hernandez was found to have an active criminal warrant for theft of property. He was additionally charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, evading arrest or detention and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, with a total bond of $38,000.

Both Cordero and Hernandez were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

“Fleeing from law enforcement is dangerous and puts everyone on the roadway at risk,” El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte said. “We thank the Texas Department of Public Safety for its assistance and continued partnership in helping bring this incident to a safe conclusion.”
