HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A 74-year-old man was found dead after a search of the Katy area on Wednesday afternoon, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Just before 1 p.m., Gonzalez shared that crews were conducting a search for a man who went into a wooded area on Tuesday. According to HCSO, two men were reportedly operating a drone, when it crashed in the wooded area in the 11100 block of Katy Hockley.
Authorities said the 74-year-old went in to find a missing part of the drone but never returned.
A search got underway on Tuesday and resumed Wednesday, but a little after 2 p.m., Gonzalez shared the man had been found dead.
“Our detectives are on scene. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” he wrote.
