HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Residents in West Houston have reached out to ABC13, hoping someone will do something about a heavily damaged apartment building in their neighborhood.
The Westhollow Place Apartments are located in the 13700 block of Richmond Avenue at Panagard Drive and have been the subject of at least two fires covered by ABC13 since 2018.

Units on both sides of the building are visibly destroyed, but neighbors say residents still pay to live in the undamaged ones.
“It’s a pretty sketchy situation,” said John Rouse.
Rouse lives in the area and reached out to ABC13 with concerns about the property.
He showed ABC13 images of Alief ISD students exiting a school bus just feet away from damaged units along Richmond Avenue.
“I just felt it was a very dangerous situation for the children or anybody,” said Rouse. “I would like the city to condemn the building.”
The City of Houston tells ABC13 that its public works department oversees building codes and is looking into whether this building has received any violations.
Neighbors also said they’re worried the building will attract crime, but the Houston Police Department says the only recent calls they’ve had to the property involve current tenants.
The company that says it manages the building told ABC13 it’s trying to fix the damaged units, but claims the process is on hold because of a lawsuit with a construction company.
ABC13 is working to find a copy of that lawsuit.
