LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Yates Flooring is celebrating its grand reopening at a new location after 50 years in business.
“We just celebrated our 50th anniversary here. Mr. and Mrs. Yates opened this up in 1976. Here we are 50 years later in 2026, still trying to go strong and serve the people of West Texas,” Ryan Rogers, minority owner and CEO said.
The business originally opened its doors 1976 at the 34th Street and Slide Road Five Points Shopping Center.
“Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that we would have one of the finest flooring stores in the whole country,” Bobby Yates, president and founder said.
The new location is larger than the previous store. It features a new layout designed for easier shopping and includes seating areas where customers can meet with experts to discuss design decisions.
“We’re very excited about introducing the new layout. We call this a customer-forward concept in that the customer’s needs and overall experience is at the forefront of every decision that we made as it relates to design and certainly as it relates to the way that we organize the environment,” Coby McDougal, chief sales officer said.
The new location is at 12111 Quaker Avenue.
