2. Thousands of Venezuelans lose legal status as protections for the country expire
Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans living in the U.S. are losing a layer of legal protection as the country’s designation under a federal program expired last week.
Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a program that allows people from countries dealing with humanitarian crises or natural disasters to live and work in the U.S. temporarily without risk of deportation.
3. Revised Austin budget includes cuts to EMS services, fire department, parks and more
Days after Austinites overwhelmingly rejected a property tax rate increase known as Proposition Q, city officials have released a revised budget proposal, which includes cuts to emergency and parks services.

Texas returned to the top 10 of The Associated Press college football poll on Sunday, the Atlantic Coast Conference has five teams ranked for the first time this season and two Group of Five conferences are now represented in the Top 25 a month before the playoff bracket is set.
