SAN ANTONIO — A driver narrowly escaped a road rage shooting on San Antonio’s northeast side after a bullet went through his truck’s windshield, police said.

The shooting happened Sept. 4 after an encounter near Rittiman Road and Gibbs Sprawl.

Investigators said the victim followed a driver police identified as the aggressor in an attempt to get the vehicle’s license plate. Police said a passenger in the other vehicle then leaned out of the window and started shooting at the victim’s truck.

Six shots were fired, according to police. One bullet went through the windshield and landed inside the truck.

Police said Andy Fuentes was driving the vehicle involved in the shooting and is being accused of acting as the getaway driver.

Investigators said Fuentes claimed the victim was the aggressor but refused to identify who fired the shots.

Fuentes is facing charges. The person accused of shooting at the truck has not been arrested.
