Blood Cancer United gathers community members to provide hope to those affected by the disease

  • September 20, 2026

SAN ANTONIO – Blood Cancer United’s Light The Night connects neighbors, families, friends, organizations and community partners to celebrate, honor and remember everyone affected by the disease.

Light The Night will be held at The Rock at La Cantera on Saturday, Oct. 10. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. Registration is free, and participants are encouraged to raise funds to support the organization’s mission.

The event raises money for life-saving blood cancer research, free information, support services, and advocacy for quality, affordable and coordinated care for patients and their families.

Blood Cancer United, formerly known as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, has a goal to help people with blood cancer gain more than 1 million years of life by 2040.

The goal represents more birthdays, graduations and cherished moments with loved ones.

Patients and survivors receive a special survivor T-shirt regardless of how much they raise. They also receive a white lantern to hold during the event as participants join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer.

To take part, register for a Light The Night event, invite friends and family to join, and help support Blood Cancer United’s effort to ensure everyone with blood cancer can live a longer, better life.

The Blood Cancer United mission: Cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of all patients and their families. Blood Cancer United funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care.
