Tamara Cruz was arrested and charged Monday with murder after deputies responded to a call for service Sunday night at the Pines of Woodforest, an apartment complex located at 90 Uvalde Road near Wallisville, Gonzalez said on X.
Deputies found an adult man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Gonzalez identified the victim Monday as Juan Cairo, 74.
Deputies began investigating the fatal shooting as a case of intimate partner violence Sunday night, according to Gonzalez.
Cruz was booked into the Harris County jail, according to Gonzalez. Court records for Cruz were not immediately available.
