Emergency workers and vehicle with lights on, responding to an active fire.
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A number of residents are safe after a first-floor apartment fire broke out on the East Side Tuesday night, officials said.
Emergency crews were called around 7:20 p.m. to a reported structure fire near Windsor Oaks and Walzem Road. The first arriving units found flames coming from the first floor, according to Battalion Chief Benya with EESD 10.
Firefighters quickly launched an attack and rescued occupants from the main fire area, as well as residents in a neighboring unit.
Benya said there were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
Crews contained the fire to the main apartment complex and prevented it from spreading to nearby structures.
