Fort Worth police charge Salon Hugo owner with child sexual assault after a reported incident at the salon on September 4, according to police.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating the owner of an East Lancaster Avenue barbershop on charges of sexually assaulting a child, and detectives believe there could be additional victims.

Hugo Jimenez Rodriguez, owner of Salon Hugo at 4075 E. Lancaster Ave., was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by contact, according to the Fort Worth Police Department. The charges stem from an incident reported to have occurred Sept. 4.

Police released Jimenez Rodriguez’s mugshot this week as part of an appeal to the community, saying they believe there may be other victims, particularly Spanish-speaking teenagers who live near the barbershop.

The Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit is leading the investigation, which remains active. It was not immediately clear whether the alleged victim was a client of the salon or how the minor may have known Jimenez Rodriguez.

Daniel Segura, a Fort Worth police public information officer, said detectives are still building the case and want anyone with information to come forward.

“We know they might have a lot of questions, but it’s always better to make that phone call,” Segura said. “Let the investigators see what steps they need to follow. But don’t stay quiet. We don’t want victims to stay silent.”

Segura said the department recognizes the sensitivity of the cases and is prepared to connect potential victims with support services.

“We have resources available, counseling, and many other resources for those possible victims,” he said.

He added that investigators handle each case individually and urged anyone who may have been affected not to hesitate.

“Don’t be afraid of making that report,” Segura said. “These cases are very sensitive. We have to manage whatever info we have very specifically on each case with what happened. That’s why we need to talk to anyone to see what steps they need to follow.”

Segura said police understand that potential victims may be reluctant to speak up but emphasized that reporting is the first step toward getting help.

An attorney for Jimenez Rodriguez could not immediately be reached for comment.

Anyone who believes they may have been a victim is asked to contact Detective Lopez at 682-382-1509.
